What is Title II?
Title II, Part A funds can be used to provide supplemental professional development activities that strengthen and support the quality and effectiveness of teachers, principals, and other school leaders (instructional coaches, counselors, etc.). Professional development must be based on a review of evidence-based research with an expectation of impacting and improving student academic achievement.
PD activities may include, but are not limited to:
- Improving the knowledge of teachers, principals, and other educational personnel in one or more of the core academic subjects and in effective instructional teaching strategies, methods, and skills,
- Training in how to teach students with different needs, including students with disabilities or limited English proficiency, and gifted and talented students,
- Training in methods of improving student behavior, identifying early and appropriate interventions, and involving parents more effectively in their children’s education, and
- Training in the use of data and assessments to improve instruction and student outcomes
What is Title IV?
Title IV, Part A funds may be used to support professional development for teachers, counselors, instructional personnel, or school administrators under the three content areas of the grant:
Well-Rounded Education:
- STEM
- Foreign language instruction
- Music and Arts instruction
- Accelerated Learning
- Social and Emotional Learning
- Environmental Education
- American History, Civics, Economics, Geography, and/or Government Education
- College and Career Counseling
- Other programs/activities that support student access to well-rounded educational opportunities for students
Safe and Healthy Students:
- Bullying and harassment prevention
- Relationship building skills
- School dropout prevention
- Suicide prevention
- Child sexual abuse awareness and prevention
- Drug and violence prevention
- Nutrition and/or physical education
- Health and safety practices in school or athletic programs
- Preventing use of alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, smokeless tobacco, electronic cigarettes • Culturally responsive teaching
Student mental health Effective Use of Technology:
- Increasing the use of technology to improve the academic achievement, academic growth, and digital literacy of all students
- Maximizing and enhancing the use of educational technology
- Blended learning strategies
- Personalized digital learning strategies
What is Stronger Connections Grant?
